Black Box User GuideThis file contains information to assist you in using your Black Box Guide. The Black Box Guide contains three basic types of information for gamers: basic gameplay information, interactive level maps, and strategic level walkthroughs with audio. Use these links to move quickly to the sections below. Gameplay Information Interactive Level Interface Level Map Mode Walkthrough Mode Etc. Gameplay Information Main MenuThe Black Box Guide opens showing a Level Menu at top and a Gameplay Information Menu at bottom. The Gameplay Information Menu contains buttons with links to images and descriptions of weapons, enemies, and level bosses. Clicking any of the buttons will bring up a further menu allowing you to move through the information in each category.
The Gameplay Information Menu Clicking on any of the buttons in the Level Menu at top will take you to the Interactive Level Interface.
The Level Menu Interactive Level InterfaceLevel Interface MenuThe buttons on the Level Interface Menu allow you to move between the Main Menu, Walkthrough, Level Map, and Help. The Level Interface Menu can be minimized by clicking on the minimization icon on its bottom right.
The Level Interface Menu Level Navigation MenuYour Black Box Guide breaks each level down into sub-levels for easy digestion. The arrows at the bottom of the Level Navigation menu allow you to scroll through each level's sub-levels. The Level Navigation Menu can be minimized by clicking the minimization icon on its bottom right.
The Level Navigation Menu Level InformationThe Level Information screen contains a useful summary of the challenges you'll meet in each sub-level and a succinct description of each sub-level's objective. The Level Information screen can be minimized by clicking the minimization icon on its bottom right.
The Level Information screen Thumbnail Map ViewerThe Thumbnail Map Viewer gives you a bird's eye view of each map in your Black Box Guide. In Level Map mode, click on the thumbnail maps to move the full color map around in the Map Viewer. Use the arrows on the floor navigation button on the dock at the bottom of the Thumbnail Map Viewer to move up or down through a level's floors (this functionality is only available on maps with multiple floors). In Walkthrough mode, the Thumbnail Map Viewer shows your characters position.
The Thumbnail Map Viewer Map ViewerThe Map Viewer loads full color maps of each sub-level in the game. In Level Map mode the map in the Map Viewer can be moved by clicking on the thumbnail map in the Thumbnail Map Viewer. Zoom in or out on the maps by clicking on the zoom icons on the doc at the bottom of the Map Viewer. Use the arrows on the floor navigation button on the dock at the bottom of the Map Viewer to move up or down through a level's floors (this functionality is only available on maps with multiple floors).
The Map Viewer Level Map ModeThe Interactive Level Interface opens in Level Map mode when you select a level from the Main Menu. Level Map mode allows you to survey a high quality map of each level in your game. Use the Thumbnail Map Viewer to move the full color level maps. Remember that each level has multiple sub-levelsuse the Level Navigation menu to change sub-levels. Walkthrough ModeThe level walkthroughs provide strategic hints and tips and illustrate access to secret areas of the game. You'll see icons representing static and moving enemies, health and armor bonuses, new weapons, gold, and power-ups. Watch as the hero icon moves through the level and listen to the voice over for the strategy. Use the Rewind, Pause, and Play icons at the bottom of the Map Viewer to stop, restart, and start over each sub-level's walkthrough. Remember that each level has multiple sub-levelsuse the Level Navigation menu to change sub-levels.
